Two new titles have been released in the Hot Topics series produced by the Legal Information Access Centre at the State Library of New South Wales.
No 28: 'Sentencing - Update' updates the earlier edition published in 1996. This covers sentencing terminology, aims and justifications for punishment, how penalties are determined, types of punishment, mandatory sentencing.
No 29: 'Drugs' covers the history of drug law in Australia and current drug law in NSW, the effect of enforcement, sentencing options, treatment options and recent policy initiatives.

A CD-ROM that delves into the Mabo case and the issues it raises for Australians and for Indigenous peoples everywhere.
