Acknowledgements
The success of this project was the result of many collaborations and
contributions, particularly those generously provided by our team of 24
authors. This opportunity would have never presented itself, however,
without a seed grant provided in 2009 by the Renewable and Sustainable
Energy Institute (RASEI), a joint program of the University of Colorado
and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. That funding, coupled
with subsequent project support from the Western Water Assessment, a
joint program of the University of Colorado and the National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration, was essential and is greatly appreciated.
The Editors also wish to acknowledge the technical editing and project
