Kai Ambos is Professor and Chair of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Comparative Law
and International Criminal Law at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany. Head

Justice at the University of Göttingen. Judge at the Provincial Court (Landgericht) of Lower
Saxony in Göttingen. Former Dean of Students of the Faculty of Law at the University of
Göttingen (April 20082010). Former senior research fellow at the Max-Planck Institute for
Foreign and International Criminal Law, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, in charge of the
sections `International Criminal Law' and `Spanish-speaking Latin America' (19912003).
Member of the German Delegation to the Diplomatic Conference on the Establishment of an
International Criminal Court (Rome, 15 June17 July, 1998). Member of the expert working

Kelly D. Askin, BS, JD, PhD (law) is senior legal officer for the International Justice
