Alberto Alemanno is Jean Monnet Professor of EU Law & Risk Regula-
tion at Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) Paris, where he
teaches EU law, international economic law, global antitrust and risk
regulation. He has been a qualified attorney at law in New York since
2004 and Adjunct Professor at Georgetown Law School, St Gallen
University and Fribourg Law School. Originally from Italy, Alemanno
earned a Laurea in Giurisprudenza cum laude from the Università degli
Studi di Torino, LLM degrees from Harvard Law School and the College
of Europe (Bruges), and a PhD in International Law and Economics from
Bocconi University. He is the Editor of the European Journal of Risk
Regulation.
Nick Bernard graduated in law from the Université Paris-XI and the
University of Kent at Canterbury. After his Masters in International
Trade Law from Paris-I Panthéon-Sorbonne, he took up posts at the
University of Essex and at Queen's University Belfast. He joined Queen
Mary in 2003 as Senior Lecturer.
Vincent Brannigan holds his juris doctor degree from Georgetown Univer-
sity and is a member of the Maryland and DC Bars. He has been a
full-time faculty member at the University of Maryland since 1977. Prior
to joining the faculty, he worked at the Consumer Product Safety Com-
mission, the National Fire Prevention and Control Administration and
the Center for Fire Research at the National Bureau of Standards. He
