Meinhard Doelle is a Professor at the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie
University, where he specializes in environmental law. He is the Director of
the Marine and Environmental Law Program, and is cross-appointed to
Dalhousie's College of Sustainability. From 2000 to 2006, Prof. Doelle served
as a non-governmental member of the Canadian delegation to the United
Nations climate change negotiations. He continues to follow the negotiations
as an official observer. Prof. Doelle has written on a variety of environmental
law topics, including climate change, energy, invasive species, environmental
assessments, and public participation in environmental decision-making. His
recent books include the following: Promoting Compliance in an Evolving
Climate Regime (2011); Environmental Law: Cases and Materials (2009); The
Federal Environmental Assessment Process: A Guide and Critique (2008);
and From Hot Air to Action: Climate Change, Compliance and the Future of
International Environmental Law (2005).
Lee Godden is Professor and Director, Centre for Resources, Energy and
Environmental Law, Melbourne Law School, Australia. Previously, she held
an appointment as Director, Office for Environmental Programs at the
University of Melbourne. Her research interests span environmental law and
climate change law, with a focus on water-related impacts. In conjunction with
colleagues, she holds two Australian Research Council grants investigating
aspects of climate change governance. She has recently co-edited a special
issue of the journal Climate Law and a special issue on `Water Governance in
a Climate Change World' in Water Resources Management.
