In writing this book, the editors have benefitted from the support of many
institutions and people. The volume is an outcome of activities carried out
by the Platform of International Water Law of the University of Geneva.
The initial impetus for the book came from two research projects on

together leading academics and practitioners from Africa, Europe, India,
the United States and South America.

Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), the Swiss National
Science Foundation, the Société Académique de Genève, the Stiftung
zur Förderung der Rechtlichen und Wirtschaftlichen Forschung an der
Universität Basel, the Services Industriels de Genève (SIG) and the
University of Geneva for their generous grants and in-kind support that
made the organization of the conference possible. Thanks are also due
to the over 140 participants of the conference for sharing their ...
