Alberto Alemanno is associate Professor of law at hec Paris where he
holds a Jean monnet chair in eU and Risk Regulation as well as adjunct
Professor at Georgetown law where he teaches Global Risk Regulation.
Formerly Référendaire (clerk) at the court of Justice of the european
Union and teaching assistant at the college of europe in bruges. he
has published widely in the areas of eU law, international economic
law and risk regulation, including the books Trade in Food Regulatory
and Judicial Approaches in the EU and the WTO (cameron may, 2007),
Governing Disasters The Challenges of Emergency Risk Regulation
(edward elgar, 2011) and Better Business Regulation in a Risk Society
(springer, 2012). his latest edited volume is New Directions in European
Food Law The First Ten Years of the European Food Safety Authority
(ashgate, 2013).
he is the founder and editor of the European Journal of Risk Regulation
as well as the scientific director of the summer academy in Global Food
law & Policy. originally from italy, alemanno earned a law degree
cum laude from the Università degli studi di torino, ll.m. degrees
from harvard law school and the college of europe, and a Ph.d. in
international law and economics from bocconi University. For more

Alessandra Arcuri is associate Professor of law and economics and of
international economic law at the erasmus school of law. her research
focuses on risk law, international economic law and law and economics.
