This book would not have been possible without the dedicated support of
Dr Daniela di Piramo of Griffith University's Centre for Governance and
Public Policy, who supported the editors with copy-editing, reference
checking and endless other editorial coordination. Her professionalism
and attention to detail were tireless, and the book is testimony to her
careful eye as well as her dedication to the content.
We would also like to thank the editorial team at Edward Elgar for the
invitation to compile the handbook, their patience and support through to
completion.
We all also wish to thank our institutions for their support, and our
family and friends who also understand, and help bear the burden, of the
fact that whistleblowing research is much more than just a `day job'.
Our greatest thanks go to our authors for agreeing to participate and
providing such high-quality contributions to this vital field. We also wish
to thank the broader membership of the International Whistleblowing
Research Network for their very active participation in research and other
debates in the brief years since the Network's establishment in 2009.
Their involvement in conferences and correspondence has suggested
many avenues for academic exploration, including many of the issues
that have been raised and analyzed in this handbook.
Any active researchers with an interest in the highest quality inter-
disciplinary research into whistleblowing are welcome to join the Net-
work by emailing its convenor, David Lewis at d.b.lewis@mdx.ac.uk.
