EDITORS
Geert Van Calster is an alumnus of the College of Europe, Bruges (promo-
tion Stefan Zweig). He is Professor in the University of Leuven and Head
of Leuven Law's department of European and international law. Geert
is also senior fellow at Leuven's Centre for Global Governance Studies.
Professor Van Calster is a visiting professor at Monash University
(Melbourne) and at the China-EU School of Law in Beijing, and a visiting
lecturer at King's College, London. He was previously i.a. a visiting lec-
turer at Oxford University. He was called to the Bar in 1999 after having
worked as counsel in a City law firm since 1995, and continues to practice
from the Brussels Bar. Geert is on the board of Academische Stichting
Leuven, an academic charity and he keeps a blog on, among others, regu-
latory law at www.gavclaw.com.
Wim Vandenberghe is a counsel in the Brussels office of Dechert LLP.
His practice focuses on EU energy, regulatory and competition law. In
the energy industry, Wim represents gas and electricity grid operators,
investors, power producers and large energy consumers. He advises on
regulatory law matters, including TPA, unbundling, tariffs, investment
structuring, network rules and licences, and he also represents clients in
fossil fuels and renewable energy contracts and projects, EU energy lib-
eralization packages, and climate change and emissions trading matters.
He has been recognized as a leading energy lawyer by independent legal
