In this Research Handbook, legal scholars from around the European Union examine a range of aspects of EU consumer and contract law. Some of the contributions provide a general survey of the current state of the law, others examine general themes which can be identified in the current state of the law, and some take a forward-looking perspective as to where things might go in the future. Taken together, these chapters provide a range of useful perspectives on the current state of development of this key area of European private law, published at a point in time in the story of EU consumer and contract law where it has arrived at a crossroads, with some uncertainty as to how the story may continue.
