Acknowledgements
This book is the result of a collective effort by all authors, all of whom
over the years have significantly contributed to the theoretical or practical
development of REDD+ and/or are involved in the negotiations under the
UNFCCC. For all of us REDD+ is important in many ways.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to each and every one of
the authors for making time and energy available for writing the respec-
tive chapters. Being able to draw upon the immensely rich knowledge and
expertise of the authors was a truly humbling and rewarding experience.
The book is an attempt to garner and share this richness.
I would also like to thank Stephanie Schmölzer and Eirik Torsvoll at
Pluricourts (University of Oslo) for their excellent assistance. My special
thanks go further to Laura Mann and Elizabeth Clack at Edward Elgar
Publishing and to Jonathan Verschuuren as the series editor for entrusting
me with this book project and for seeing it through.
