Preface
The present volume represents one of the outcomes of the project
`European Networking and Training for National Competition
Enforcers' (ENTraNCE). The project is organized by the Robert
Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS) of the European
University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy. ENTraNCE organizes
training, research and policy debates in the field of competition law
and economics. The project includes two dimensions: `ENTraNCE'
addressed to officials from National Competition Authorities
(NCAs), law firms, economics consultancies and private companies,
and `ENTraNCE for Judges', which targets national judges from
the EU Member States. Over 200 national judges from 24 EU
Member States have attended this training programme since 2011.
The programme includes both residential training in Florence as
well as online activities. Each year the training focuses on a
different aspect of competition law enforcement that is relevant to
the national judiciary. The training is co-financed by DG Com-
petition of the European Commission.
The present volume represents the final outcome of the fifth
edition of ENTraNCE for Judges. ENTraNCE for Judges 2015
focused on emerging trends in abuse of dominance, analyzed from
a law and economics perspective. The present volume includes
contributions from the speakers who intervened in the context of
the residential training of ENTraNCE for Judges 2015 in Florence.
In addition, the three editors of the book have been actively
involved in the organization of ENTraNCE Judges since its first
edition: Professor Parcu is the Director of the programme; Profes-
sor Monti acts as Scientific Coordinator; finally, ...
