Acknowledgments

This book is the result of a research project jointly undertaken by the
Law Research Centre of Dublin City University (DCU), in Dublin,
Ireland, and the Department of Legal Studies of Bocconi University in
Milan, Italy which we respectively direct.
The contributions to this volume were first discussed at a workshop we
held in Luxembourg on 2930 November 2018. The event was kindly
hosted by the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Procedural Law and the
University of Luxembourg, and we want to sincerely thank Burkhard
Hess, Director of the MPI, and Pierre-Henri Conac and Herwig Hof-
mann, Professors at the University of Luxembourg, for their gracious
hospitality.
This event was generously sponsored by the international law firm
GSK Stockmann, and we would like to thank Andreas Heinzmann and
Valerio Scollo for believing in this project, and kindly agreeing to
support it. The law firm Gattai, Minoli, Agostinelli and Partners, for
whom Marco Ventoruzzo works as of counsel, also graciously hosted a
dinner, which gave us the opportunity to engage with the contributors in
an informal context.
While the book is the result of joint editorial work, Parts I and II were
primarily edited by Federico Fabbrini and Parts III and IV by Marco
Ventoruzzo. In the organization of the workshop, we received assistance
from Annelieke Mooij, PhD student in Law at DCU, and Federico
Fabbrini is honoured to acknowledge that the preparation of
this book received financial support from the DCU Faculty of Humanities
and Social Sciences ...
