Section: Chapter 10
Section Title: Gods would be needed... Derrida on law and religion
Author(s): Fitzpatrick, Peter
Number of pages: 14
Abstract/Description:
This chapter explores the work of Derrida on law and religion by the means of exploring and cumulatively collecting three sets of affinities: (1) the affinity between Derrida’s deconstruction and law, taking deconstruction as the focal idea in Derrida’s thought and taking law as a telling instance of it; (2) the affinities between law and religion, which show that elements associated with religion are also found in law; and (3) the affinities between religion and law.
