Abstract/Description:
Croatia enacted a completely new Copyright and Related Rights Act (CRRA) in 2003 in order to implement the European acquis. This modern piece of legislation also implemented the WIPO Internet Treaties, Directive 2001/29/EC on copyright in the information society and Directive 2006/115/EC on rental and lending. The CRRA was consequently amended several times with the aim to follow the latest legal developments on the European level, notably in 2007, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018. The last amendment to this law recently passed the Parliament with the aim to implement the latest Directive (EU) 2017/1564 with regard to the Marrakesh Treaty. This chapter reviews the legislation and the case law which brought the Directive to life in Croatia
