An impressive line-up of top international and Australian law academics has been confirmed for the third annual Byron Bay Summer Law School to be hosted by Southern Cross University from 8-22 December.
In addition to the formal program there will be a special public session on the `Law of the Surf'. This will feature guest speakers such as Justice Greg James and NSW Upper House Greens MP Ian Cohen, both keen surfers who have been involved with recent plans to improve surfing etiquette in the wake of a beach assault on former surfing champion Nat Young.

The Summer School is designed for non-experts as well as lawyers, students and industry professionals in fields such as minority rights, cyber-law and health.
The school will be held at the Lord Byron Resort with a social program planned for the Byron Bay area. The subject areas are Cyber-law - International Humanitarian Law - Psychiatry, Psychology & the Law - Sexual Orientation and the Law - Introduction to American Law.
The cost of SCU's Byron Bay Summer Law School is $750.00 per subject for students and $950.00 for others. These rates are inclusive of morning and afternoon tea and are GST free either as a higher education course or a course that will contribute to the participants' employment related skills.
