Corrections Management Amendment Bill 2021

A Bill for

An Act to amend the Corrections Management Act 2007

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1 Name of Act

This Act is the Corrections Management Amendment Act 2021

2 Commencement

This Act commences 6 months after its notification day.

Note The naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act

, s 75 (1)).

3 Legislation amended

This Act amends the Corrections Management Act 2007

4 Taking prohibited things etc into correctional centre

New section 145 (1) (aa)

insert

(aa) causes a prohibited thing to be taken into a correctional centre; or

5 New section 145 (1) (ba)

insert

(ba) causes a prohibited thing to be given to a detainee; or
