Gaming Machine (Suspension of Transfers) Amendment Bill 2009







A Bill for

An Act to amend the Gaming Machine Act 2004













The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:



1 Name of Act

This Act is the Gaming Machine (Suspension of Transfers) Amendment Act 2009.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on the day after its notification day.

Note The naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act, s 75 (1)).

3 Legislation amended

This Act amends the Gaming Machine Act 2004.

4 Application for transfer of licence

New section 31 (3) and (4)

after note 2, insert

(3) A prospective licensee must not apply to the commission for the transfer of a licence from the current licensee during the period starting on 26 August 2009 and ending on 31 December 2009.

(4) This subsection and subsection (3) expire on 1 January 2010.
