CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE ACT 2008 - SECT 143

    (1)     The director-general may make youth detention policies and operating procedures, consistent with this Act, to facilitate the effective and efficient management of detention services for young detainees.

    (2)     Each youth detention policy or operating procedure is a notifiable instrument.

Note 1     A notifiable instrument must be notified under the Legislation Act

Note 2     The amendment or repeal of a youth detention policy or operating procedure is also a notifiable instrument. See the Legislation Act

    (3)     Each youth detention policy and operating procedure—

        (a)     must be available for inspection by anyone at each detention place; and

        (b)     may be made available for inspection at any other place decided by the director-general.
