Australian Capital Territory Current Acts Australian Capital Territory Current Acts(1) The applicant for a care and protection order for a child or young person must give a copy of the application to the following people at least 3 working days before the application is to be heard by the court:
(a) the child or young person;
(b) each parent of the child or young person;
(c) each other person (if any) who has daily care responsibility, or long-term care responsibility, for the child or young person;
(d) if the applicant is not the director-general—the director-general;
(e) the public advocate;
(f) if the child or young person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person—the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people commissioner.
(2) This section does not apply if the director-general or a police officer has daily care responsibility for a child or young person under part 13.1 (Emergency action).
Note For s (2), the director-general need only give a copy of the application to people before the application is heard by the court (see s 413).
