LEGISLATION ACT 2001 - SECT 179

Content of statements of reasons for decisions

    (1)     This section applies if a law requires a tribunal or other entity making a decision to give written reasons for the decision, whether the term ‘reasons', ‘grounds' or any other term is used.

    (2)     The document giving the reasons must also set out the findings on material questions of fact and refer to the evidence or other material on which the findings were based.

    (3)     This section is a determinative provision.
