Australian Capital Territory Current Acts Australian Capital Territory Current Acts(1) The main function of a nominated person for a person with a mental disorder or mental illness is to help the person by ensuring that the interests, views and wishes of the person are respected if the person requires treatment, care or support for a mental disorder or mental illness.
(2) The other functions of a nominated person include—
(a) receiving information under this Act; and
(b) being consulted about decisions in relation to treatment, care or support; and
(c) other functions given to the nominated person under this Act.
