ANIMAL DISEASES REGULATION 2006 - REG 49

Honey and honeycomb not to be exposed

    (1)     A person commits an offence if—

        (a)     the person is either—

              (i)     a beekeeper; or

              (ii)     a person who harvests honey from a frame hive; and

        (b)     the person permits bees to access honey or honeycomb in a way other than by allowing bees to enter a frame hive through a broodbox.

Maximum penalty: 10 penalty units.

    (2)     An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
