COURT PROCEDURES RULES 2006 - REG 3156

Adoption order—application

    (1)     An application for an adoption order may be made

        (a)     by the proposed adoptive parent or parents; or

        (b)     if the order is for the adoption of a child or young person—on behalf of the proposed adoptive parent or parents, by—

              (i)     the CYP director-general; or

              (ii)     the principal officer of a private adoption agency.

    (2)     The application for an order for the adoption of a child or young person must be—

        (a)     supported by an affidavit in accordance with rule 3157; and

        (b)     accompanied by the documents required under rule 3158.

    (3)     The application for an order for the adoption of a person 18 years old or older must be supported by an affidavit in accordance with rule 3157A.
