(1) This rule applies if—
(a) an accused person in a criminal proceeding—
(i) is not in custody; and
(ii) is not represented by a solicitor; and
(iii) has an address for service; and
(b) no-one can be found at the address.
(2) Any document in the proceeding (including a document for which personal service is otherwise necessary) may be served on the accused person by leaving a copy at the person's address for service.
