CORONERS ACT 1997 (NO. 57 OF 1997) - SECT 12

12. Except as otherwise provided by this Act, a Coroner has all the powers, authority and jurisdiction which were, immediately before the commencement of the Coroners Act 1956, vested in a Coroner.
