RESIDENTIAL TENANCIES AMENDMENT ACT 2017 (NO. 32 OF 2017) - SECT 2

    (1)     This Act (other than schedules 2 and 3) is taken to have commenced on the day the bill for this Act was presented to the Legislative Assembly.

    (2)     Schedules 2 and 3 commence on a day fixed by the Minister by written notice.

Note 1     A single day or time may be fixed, or different days or times may be fixed, for the commencement of different provisions (see Legislation Act

, s 77 (1)).

Note 2     If a provision has not commenced within 6 months beginning on the notification day, it automatically commences on the first day after that period (see Legislation Act

, s 79).

    (3)     If schedule 3 has not commenced within 12 months beginning on this Act's notification day, it automatically commences on the first day after that period.

    (4)     The Legislation Act

, section 79 (Automatic commencement of postponed law) does not apply to schedule 3.
