WASTE MANAGEMENT AND RESOURCE RECOVERY ACT 2016 (NO. 51 OF 2016) - SECT 16

    (1)     The director-general must appoint a public servant as the Waste Manager.

Note 1     For the making of appointments (including acting appointments), see the Legislation Act

, pt 19.3.

Note 2     In particular, a person may be appointed for a particular provision of a law (see Legislation Act

, s 7 (3)) and an appointment may be made by naming a person or nominating the occupant of a position (see Legislation Act

, s 207).

    (2)     However, the director-general may appoint a person as the waste manager only if satisfied that the person has suitable qualifications and experience to exercise the functions of the waste manager.

    (3)     An appointment is a notifiable instrument.
