2008

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY FOR THE

CRIMINAL CODE AMENDMENT REGULATION 2008 (NO 1)

SL2008-56

EXPLANATORY STATEMENT

Circulated by the authority of
Simon Corbell MLA
Attorney General

Criminal Code Amendment Regulation 2008 (No 1)

Outline

The intention of this amendment is to address a previous error in drafting and insert ‘kg’ as the weight for Controlled Precursors contained in columns 3 and 4 of Schedule 3.

This amendment clarifies the quantity for commercial and large commercial quantities of controlled precursors under section 601 (1) of the Criminal Code 2002, and ensures that Schedule 3 is free of ambiguity.

Current drafting practice is to abbreviate terms of measurement where ever possible, so that ‘kg’ is used instead of ‘kilograms’ in full.
