EXPLANATORY STATEMENT

Overview

Under Section 19 of the Heritage Act 2004 (Procedures of Council) regulations may prescribe the procedures of the council including its decision-making powers. These regulations are required to put procedures in place given the appointment of the new Council.

The new Heritage Regulation covers the calling of council meetings, quorums, voting, conduct and disclosure of interests. This regulation will assist the Heritage Unit in administering the secretariat functions for the ACT Heritage Council.
