MAGISTRATES COURT (CIVIL JURISDICTION) (FEES) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) (NO. 14 OF 1988)

AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY

MAGISTRATES COURT (CIVIL JURISDICTION) (FEES) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT)

EXPLANATORY STATEMENT

No. 14 of 1988

This Regulation amends the Magistrates Court (Civil Jurisdiction) (Fees) Regulations to increase from $2,000 to $2,500 the fee payable for a financial year for inspection (at any time) of a register of default judgements in the ACT Magistrates Court. This increase is equivalent to a percentage increase of about 8.3% per year since the fee was fixed in 1985. The Regulation also increases from $2 to $5 the fee payable for a “one off” search of a register.

There is no fee payable by a party to proceedings or the legal representatives of that party for inspecting a default judgment entered in those proceedings.

Authorised by the Minister for Justice
