RADIATION REGULATIONS 2002

SUBORDINATE LAW No. OF 2002

EXPLANATORY STATEMENT

The purpose of the Radiation Regulations 2002 is to reduce the radiation dose limits applicable to radiation workers and members of the public in the ACT. The limits will be aligned with the values contained in the “Recommendations for limiting exposure to ionizing radiation (1995)” published by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).

The NHMRC Recommendations include amended definitions for the quantities used in radiological protection and the regulations also adopt these definitions.
