MOTOR TRAFFIC ACT 1936 (REPEALED) - SECT 94

Application for registration or licence

(1)     An application for the registration of a motor vehicle or trailer, or the renewal or transfer of the registration of a motor vehicle or trailer, or for a licence or the renewal of a licence, shall be lodged with the Registrar, and shall set out the full name and address of the applicant and any other particulars required by the Registrar including, in relation to any motor vehicle or trailer referred to in the application, the type, manufacturer, engine power, engine number, weight and description of body.

(2)     Upon receipt of the application, the Registrar may—

        (a)     by notice to the applicant, require the applicant to attend at the Registrar's office on the date specified in the notice; or

        (b)     require the applicant to furnish to him or her a statutory declaration setting forth—

              (i)     the full name and address of the owner of the motor vehicle or trailer and of the person from whom the motor vehicle or trailer was purchased or acquired; and

              (ii)     particulars of the type, manufacturer, weight and date of purchase or acquisition of the vehicle and such other particulars as the Registrar requires.
