  This Act is the 

Australian Prudential Regulation Authority

(1)  Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table

commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with

column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect

according to its terms.

1  Subsection 50(1) 

4 

Repeal the subsection, substitute: 

5 

Determination of Commonwealth costs 

6 

 

(1)  The Minister is to make, by legislative instrument, for each 

7 

financial year, either of the following determinations: 

8 

 

(a)  a determination specifying the amount of the levy money 

9 

payable to the Commonwealth, in respect of levy for that 

10 

financial year, to cover the following costs to the 

11 

Commonwealth: 

12 

 

(i)  costs incurred in connection with supporting the 

13 

integrity and efficiency of markets in which leviable 

14 

bodies operate; 

15 

 

(ii)  costs incurred in connection with promoting the 

16 

interests of consumers in markets in which leviable 

17 

bodies operate; 

18 

 

(iii)  the cost of administering the function of making 

19 

determinations about the release on compassionate 

20 

grounds of benefits that are in a superannuation entity or 

21 

retirement savings account; 

22 

 

(iv)  the cost of governing and maintaining the 

23 

superannuation transactions network; 

24 

 

(v)  costs relating directly or indirectly to the regulation of 

25 

leviable bodies; 

26 

 

(b)  a determination, in respect of each class of levy for that 

27 

financial year, specifying the amount of the levy money 

28 

payable to the Commonwealth in respect of that class of levy 

29 

for that financial year, to cover the following costs to the 

30 

Commonwealth: 

31 

 

(i)  costs incurred in connection with supporting the 

32 

integrity and efficiency of markets in which leviable 

33 

bodies operate;

The amendments made by this Schedule apply in relation to a

determination under subsection 50(1) of the 

Australian Prudential

Regulation Authority Act 1998 

that is made on or after the

commencement of this Act.
