  This Act is the

.

commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with

for registration of an aircraft (within the meaning of the

) as an RPA or as a model aircraft; or

(b)  on applying under the Part 101 Manual of Standards (within

5  Imposition of levy

  Unmanned aircraft levy is imposed.

(1)  The amount of the levy is the amount prescribed by the regulations.

(2)  The amount prescribed:

(a)  must not be more than $300; and 

8 

 

(b)  may be a nil amount.

7  Act does not impose levy on property of a State 

3 

 

(1)  This Act does not impose a tax on property of any kind belonging 

4 

to a State. 

5 

 

(2)  In this section, 

property of any kind belonging to a State

 has the 

6 

same meaning as in section 114 of the Constitution. 

7 

 

(3)  For the purposes of this section, assume that a reference in 

8 

section 114 of the Constitution to a State includes a reference to the 

9 

Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory.

8  Regulations 

11 

 

  The Governor-General may make regulations prescribing matters: 

12 

 

(a)  required or permitted by this Act to be prescribed by the 

13 

regulations; or 

14 

 

(b)  necessary or convenient to be prescribed for carrying out or 

15 

giving effect to this Act.
