The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1  Short title

  This Act is the Customs Amendment (Safer Cladding) Act 2019.

2  Commencement 

6 

 

(1)  Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table 

7 

commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with 

8 

column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect 

9 

according to its terms.

1  After section 51A

Insert:

51B  Importation of polyethylene core aluminium composite panels 

6 

 

(1)  The importation into Australia of polyethylene core aluminium 

7 

composite panels is prohibited. 

8 

 

(2)  Polyethylene core aluminium composite panels are taken to be 

9 

prohibited imports under the Customs (Prohibited Imports) 

10 

Regulations 1956.

2  Application 

12 

The amendments made to the Customs Act 1901 by this Schedule apply 

13 

in relation to products imported on or after the day this item 

14 

commences.
