A Bill for an Act relating to customs depot licensing
charges, and for related purposes
The Parliament of Australia enacts:
This Act may be cited as the Customs Depot Licensing Charges Amendment
Act 2000.
(1) Sections 1, 2 and 3 commence on the day on which this Act
receives the Royal Assent.
(2) Schedule 1 commences on the day on which item 146 in
Schedule 3 to the Customs Legislation Amendment and Repeal
(International Trade Modernisation) Act 2000 commences.
Subject to section 2, each Act that is specified in a Schedule to
this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the
Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect
according to its terms.
Customs Depot Licensing
Charges Act 1997
1 Section 3
Insert:
depot licence variation charge means the depot licence
variation charge payable as set out in section 77LA of the Customs
Act.
2 At the end of
section 4
Add:
(4) Depot licence variation charge payable as set out in section 77LA
of the Customs Act is imposed.
3 Paragraphs 6(2)(b) and
(c)
Omit “100”, substitute “300”.
4 After section 6
Insert:
The amount of depot licence variation charge payable by an applicant for
the variation of a depot licence is $300 or, if another amount, not exceeding
$450, is prescribed, that other amount.
5 Section 7
Omit “and 6”, substitute “, 6 and 6A”.
6 Application
The amendment made by item 3 applies to the reference year ending on
31 March 2001 and all following reference years.
