The Parliament of Australia enacts:
This Act may be cited as the Industrial Chemicals (Registration
Charge—Excise) Act 1997.
This Act commences on the commencement of Part 3A of the Industrial
Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989.
(1) Registration charge payable in accordance with section 80S of the
Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989 is
imposed.
(2) This section imposes charge only so far as that charge is a duty of
excise within the meaning of section 55 of the Constitution.
