1 Short title

This Act is the

(1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table

commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with

column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect

1 After subsection 163(1) of Schedule 1
5
Insert:
6
(1A) The National Regulator must, by legislative instrument, make a
7
Marine Order which:
8
(a) requires that if a voyage is less than 12 hours long, the master
9
of the vessel must ensure that a head count is conducted of
10
passengers on embarkation and disembarkation; and
11
(b) applies to all vessels other than the following:
12
(i) a Class 4 vessel;
13
(ii) a vessel used for the purpose of public transport;
14
(iii) a vessel that is more than 24 metres long.
15
