The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title
4
This Act may be cited as the National Health Amendment
5
(Pharmaceutical Benefits) Act 2014.

2 Commencement
7
(1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table
8
commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with
9
column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect
10
according to its terms.

Repeal the subsection, substitute:

(2) If an amount is to be substituted on an indexation day, this Act has

effect as if the following amount were substituted for that amount
13
on that day:

(a) if the amount is a general patient charge--the sum of:
15
(i) the indexed amount; and
16
(ii) $5.00;
17
(b) if the amount is a general patient reduced charge or a
18
concessional beneficiary charge--the sum of:
19
(i) the indexed amount; and
20
(ii) $0.80;
21
(c) if the amount is a general patient safety net--an amount
22
equal to 110% of the indexed amount.
