The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1  Short title 

4 

 

  This Act may be cited as the National Health Amendment 

5 

(Simplified Price Disclosure) Act 2013.

2  Commencement 

7 

 

  This Act commences on the day this Act receives the Royal 

8 

Assent.

1  Subsection 99ADB(1) (definition of relevant day) 

4 

Repeal the definition, substitute: 

5 

relevant day means the day after the end of the period in respect of 

6 

which the weighted average disclosed price of the brand of the 

7 

pharmaceutical item is determined.

2  Subsection 99ADH(2) 

9 

Repeal the subsection, substitute: 

10 

 

(2)  For the purposes of paragraph (1)(aa), the reduction day must be: 

11 

 

(a)  1 April or 1 October in any year; or 

12 

 

(b)  another prescribed day.

3  Application of amendments 

14 

The amendments made by this Schedule apply in relation to a period for 

15 

which a weighted average disclosed price of a brand of a 

16 

pharmaceutical item is determined, if the period ends on or after 

17 

1 February 2014.
