The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the National Residue Survey (Customs)
6
Levy Amendment Act 2005.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal
9
Assent.

Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or

repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule

concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect

according to its terms.

Omit "0.06 cents per kilogram" (first occurring), substitute "0.075 of a

cent per kilogram".

exceeding 0.1 of a cent per kilogram)".

5 Application of amendments

(1)
The amendments made by this Schedule apply to apples and pears
18
exported on or after:
19
(a) if the first day of the first quarter after the Royal Assent
20
quarter is more than 30 days after the day on which this Act
21
receives the Royal Assent--the first day of the first quarter
22
after the Royal Assent quarter; or
23
(b) otherwise--the first day of the second quarter after the Royal
24
Assent quarter.

(2)
In this item:
26
quarter means a period of 3 months beginning on 1 January, 1 April,
27
1 July or 1 October of a year.

Royal Assent quarter means the quarter in which this Act receives the
29
Royal Assent.
