Marketing Franchise Act 1980 and the Petroleum Retail Marketing Sites Act
1980, and for related purposes
The Parliament of Australia enacts:
This Act may be cited as the Petroleum Retail Legislation Repeal Act
1998.
(1) Subject to subsection (2), this Act commences on a day to be fixed by
Proclamation.
(2) If this Act does not commence within the period of 6 months beginning
on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent, it commences on the
first day after the end of that period.
Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or
repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any
other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its
terms.
The Governor-General may make regulations making provisions of a
transitional or saving nature in relation to the repeals made by Schedule
1.
