The Parliament of Australia enacts:

  This Act may be cited as the Social Services and Other Legislation 

Amendment (2014 Budget Measures No. 1) Act 2014

  A person is qualified for energy supplement if the person is the 

holder of a seniors health card. 

1061UA  When energy supplement is payable 

 

(1)  Energy supplement is payable to a person in relation to each day on 

which the person is qualified for the supplement. 

 

(2)  However, energy supplement is not payable to the person in 

relation to a day if:

(a)  before that day: 

11 

 

(i)  the person had elected not to be covered by this Part; 

12 

and 

13 

 

(ii)  that election had not been withdrawn; or 

14 

 

(b)  subsection 55(5) (failing to nominate a bank account) of the

Administration Act applies to the person.

Secretary is satisfied that the person: 

 

(i)  does not have a severe impairment within the meaning 

of subsection (3B); and

(ii)  is able to do work that is for at least 8 hours per week on 

11 

wages at or above the relevant minimum wage and that 

12 

exists in Australia, even if not within the person's 

13 

locally accessible labour market; 

14 

 

(h)  the person does not have a dependent child under 6 years of 

15 

age.

Section 63 of the Administration Act lets the Secretary notify a person

that the person must give information to the Secretary or undergo a
