The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title
5
This Act may be cited as the Transport Security Amendment (2008
6
Measures No. 1) Act 2008.

2 Commence ment

(1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table
9
commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with
10
column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect
11
according to its terms.

(4) If the revised program comes into force, it replaces the existing

program.

time for an aviation industry participant, so long as those programs
28
covered different operations or locations.

However, if, because of the operation of subitem (1), there was more

than one transport security program in force for an aviation industry

participant at any time, the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004 is

taken to have applied, in relation to each of those programs, as if it were
4
the only program for the participant.

If, at the commencement of this Act, there is more than one transport

security program in force for an aviation industry participant, then the
8
Secretary is taken, at that time, to have given the participant a notice,
9
under subsection 12(2) of the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004, that
10
specifies the operation or location covered by each of those programs.
