1  Short title

  This Act is the 

Veterans' Affairs Legislation Amendment (Budget

2  Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table

commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with 

9 

column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect 

10 

according to its terms.

Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986

1  Subsection 24(4)

Omit "$919.40", substitute "$1,595.66".

2  Application of amendment 

7 

The amendment made by this Schedule applies in relation to working 

8 

out, in respect of days occurring on or after 1 January 2023: 

9 

 

(a)  the rate at which pension is payable under subsection 24(4) 

10 

of the 

Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986

; or 

11 

 

(b)  the rate of any other pension, or the amount of any other 

12 

payment, that is worked out by reference to that subsection 

13 

under a law of the Commonwealth.
