Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) Each Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee member is to be appointed by the Minister by written instrument.
Note: An Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee member is eligible for reappointment: see the Acts Interpretation Act 1901 .
(2) A person is not eligible for appointment as an Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee member unless the Minister is satisfied that the person has:
(a) substantial experience or knowledge; and
(b) significant standing;
in at least one field of expertise that is relevant to the functions of the Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee.
(5) The Minister must ensure that one Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee member:
(a) is an SES employee in the Department; or
(b) holds or performs the duties of an Executive Level 2 position, or an equivalent position, in the Department.
(6) The Minister must ensure that at least one of the Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee members is an officer of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation nominated by the Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation.
(6A) The Chair of the Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee holds office on a full - time basis.
(7) An Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee member (other than the Chair of the Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee) holds office on a part - time basis.
