(1) Any police officer may, without warrant, arrest a person, if the police officer has reasonable grounds to believe that the person has escaped from custody authorised by this Act.
(2) The police officer must, as soon as practicable, take the person before a magistrate or eligible Judge .
(3) If the magistrate or Judge is satisfied that the person has
escaped from custody authorised by this Act, the magistrate or Judge may issue
a warrant authorising any police officer to return the person to the custody
referred to in subsection ( 1).
