MARRIAGE ACT 1961 - SECT 100
Solemnising marriage where reason to believe there is a legal impediment
A person shall not solemnise a marriage, or purport to solemnise
a marriage, if the person has reason to believe that there is a legal
impediment to the marriage or if the person has reason to believe the marriage
would be void.
Penalty: Imprisonment for 6 months or 5 penalty units.
