Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) Nothing in this Part shall be taken to operate in relation to a child so as to affect the validity or effect of an adoption of the child, whether the adoption took place before, or takes place after, the commencement of this Act.
(2) Nothing in this Part shall be taken to exclude the operation of a law of a State or Territory in so far as it provides for the making or altering of entries in a register, but a legitimation under this Part i s not affected by any failure to comply with such a law.
(3) Nothing in this Part shall be taken to affect the validity or effect of a law of a State or Territory (however expressed and whether enacted before or after the commencement of this subsection) that operates to require a child born to a woman as a result of the carrying out of a n artificial conception procedure in relation to the woman:
(a) to be treated as the child of the woman;
(b) to be treated as the child of the woman and a particular man; or
(c) to be treated as the child of a particular man.
